John Bisenius, LMHC
Mental Health Counselor
John Bisenius is a Mental Health Counselor, born and raised in Northwest Iowa. John attended community college in Northwest Iowa, then transferred to Iowa State University where he got a bachelor’s degree in psychology. John went back to graduate school at Drake University after several years working with families, children, staff, and community support services. At Drake University, John obtained his master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and has been licensed since 2015. John has worked in group practices and private practice, and has supervised newly licensed therapists. John has developed a passion for helping people rewrite the narratives impacting them, as well as understanding the connection between mental and physical health. John works with many populations, primarily pre-adolescents and above, neurodevelopmental disorders (ASD/ADHD), trauma, men’s mental health, depression, and phase of life issues.
Outside of work, John loves spending time with his wife and two children, cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones. He also likes reading, golfing, and attending trainings.
